Tragic Day Update

The pedestrian who was hit by a car has died. She didn’t make it. I’m so saddened by this.  FROM THE WINY RADIO NEWSROOM 4/4/2025 10 hours ago:  UNFORTUNATE STERLING ACCIDENT UPDATE: The Plainfield Public Schools has announced the tragic passing of Carol Davis. Davis, who was 78 years old at the time of her passing, was recently struck by a motor vehicle in Sterling and had to be air lifted to Rhode Island Hospital.  Plainfield Public Schools released the following message on Facebook.  "It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Carol Davis. Carol, who served as a dedicated secretary within our schools and programs for 35 years, passed away yesterday. Throughout her decades of service, Carol made a profound impact on the Plainfield community. She brought laughter to every office she worked in and demonstrated an unwavering dedication to our students. Tragic Day

Today at lunch time I took a break from work to run up the street to the post office to mail something out. When I pulled into the post office there was another person there who was parked out front and heading inside. I parked to her left, in front of the silver mailboxes. I was behind her in line once inside the post office.  She left once done and I was being helped when suddenly me and the Post Master heard someone screaming outside and yelling “call 911!” It was the lady who had left and she was running back inside the post office. I grabbed my phone and started calling 911 as I ran outside to see what it was I was calling 911 for so I could provide accurate information. Once outside, I saw a lady lying in the middle of the road.  She was lying right next to the double yellow line, to the left of it.
