Daddy’s Home!

Image
My dogs, Pemi (smaller, chocolate lab) and Ozzy (large black lab) go nuts when my Hubby gets home from work! Before he pulls all the way up the driveway they know he’s coming and they get so overwhelmed with joy! LOL!!

Halloween!

Image
Just enjoyed, what I believe, might have been the best Halloween I’ve ever had; right at the end of our driveway! I think more than half the town came through! Like a parade! Four wheelers, dirt bikes, golf carts, ATVs, tractors; many homemade trailer parade floats! Everyone went all out! Because I was busy handing out candy, I was only able to obtain photos and videos of just a fraction of the action out front!  Our neighbors out front really went all out! Even had a haunted house! Fire pits too! What a blast! Good times for sure! I drove my Polaris down to the end of the driveway and even had it decorated with a little string of pumpkins! LOL!  Our town is extremely rural with very few businesses; all small businesses. All we have are 2 little general stores, a pizza shop, pub, liquor store, fireworks store, gun shop, quarry, farms that either sell organic vegetables or chicken eggs, a pet lodge, and a couple of small engine repair shops that work on equipment such as riding mowers.

Rail Replacement Nearly Complete!

Image
The rail on our balcony is nearly complete! Since we modified the plan after we had all of the supplies and part way through the project, we had the need for more balusters, which have not yet arrived. But the remaining portion won’t take long to complete. The piece of wood has been cut and is ready installation once the baluster mounts are screwed into place!

Rail Replacement Progress

Making slow progress since we haven’t had a lot of time to work on it but hopefully this weekend we’ll get most of it done!  Bucket used to pass things up and down as needed!

Rail Replacement Started!

Image
We are in the process of replacing the rail on the balcony! It was never built correctly prior to us moving here. The long section in the middle is just too long and is weak. Plus whomever built did not use one long piece of rail on the top or bottom! There was one long piece  plus a short piece on the top; and same in the bottom. The shirt pieces were opposite one another to maximize the strength of the rail but, still, not safe by any means! I would never lean on it that’s for sure! But if someone was to loose their balance and bump into that rail, there was a risk of it giving way!  Just started! A ways to go but we have all of the wood and supplies that we need to get it done! Will be adding a center post between the two main posts. We have a metal post support that will make it very sturdy when installed.  Bottom post support is being installed onto the new middle post! We’ll cut the new post to size once the post support is completely installed. We wanted to wait until the suppor
