Just Me Living Life

I just reorganized two of my kitchen cabinets. We had soooooo many coffee mugs! Waaaay tooooo many! LOL! Got rid of at least half of them! I decided to move the coffee mugs from the right cabinet to the left where the glasses were and place the glasses where the mugs were. The glasses were rather crowded there and I couldn’t fit my entire set of glasses. A few were scattered about in other cabinets throughout the kitchen. It bugged the hell out of me!  Now all of my glasses fit nicely in one cabinet and the mugs and small bowls that were mixed in with the mugs fit into the other cabinet. And my small bowls really belong in that cabinet as they are now right next to the other bowls that are medium and large sized!  We had previously broken two of the large “highball” glasses and I was able to locate replacements for them on eBay! Thrilled! They will be here on Monday and will fit beautifully when they arrive! I’ll be back to the full set of 8 of these plus the 8 smaller “whiske...

I stayed up late last night to set up my new desk with hutch! But it was well worth it! I love it! My husband’s desk was moved to the opposite wall as I needed that spot to accommodate the height of the new desk with hutch. And I had to move the bookshelf into the bedroom to accommodate my husband’s desk. I added some of my knickknacks to the hutch. I also managed to clean out some excess stuff in my bedroom and whatever is not being thrown away was added to the drawers in the desk. Nice and tidy and organized now! Very pleased with the outcome!  The hutch itself required some repairs that were easy to manage. The entire top had come off, the spindle had broken off, and there was a little wooden brace that had come off as well. I put the entire top piece back onto the hutch, which turned out to be very easy to do, as the nail ends sticking out of the bottom of the top piece were still intact. We spent a great deal of time this weekend going through my aunt’s belongings. It was a lot of work and still more work to do but the bulk of it is done! My aunt downsized her living arrangement a few months ago and doesn’t have the space for everything anymore. She wanted me to have most of it!  My favorite is the Irish Belleek! Two beautiful vases, a tea set and a little basket! So dainty and so fine! They all survived the move! I guess I did a great job packing these! No cracks or chips! In perfect condition! They were a bit dirty but I was able to get them clean! They look like new again!  I love this nativity set with shamrocks! Beautiful!  And this statue of the Blessed Mother with shamrocks! It has a music box in the base that plays Ave Maria. It works as well as when it was brand new! And I was totally surprised by this next one! It’s actually a Hummel!
