First Snow!

We got about 4-5 inches of snow last night and into today! First snow, aside from a little dusting of snow yesterday that melted soon after.

Building the New Hen Condo

In the last few weeks, I have made several changes for my hens. Prior to this, I made the painstaking decision to re-home my two female ducks to a duck farm. I miss them terribly, as well as the duck eggs, but I don't miss the added work as they certainly are very messy creatures who constantly need lots and lots of water! I had them living with my hens, and they fortunately always got along with one another. But I think my hens are happier now, too.  I do love projects like this, especially anything involving carpentry!  Here is the building of the new hen condo, my favorite project to date!!!  The framing, with PVC sheet for the floor. I love this stuff! So easy to clean and poop does not get absorbed into the floor like a wooden floor does. It will last for a very long time too! New Quad for Our Grandson!

My grandson doesn’t know about this yet! OMG! He’s going to absolutely LOVE it! All Pappy’s idea! I can’t take any of the credit for this one! Well, actually I can! I approved this purchase! LOL!! 😜😆ðŸĪŠðŸ˜‚❤️👍 Initially I disapproved but once I found out that you can adjust the maximum speed as low as is needed, I was fine with this. My grandson does great riding the Peg Perego John Deere tractor and Peg Perego quad at 5 mph maximum so we’ll set it for that for now. It doesn’t have reverse like the Peg Perego’s so that will be an adjustment for him. We have his head measurements so we can get a helmet for him.  I can’t wait for his next weekend visit to GiGi and Pappy’s! We’re going to have so much fun between our old Honda quad, the Polaris Ranger, and this new little Kawasaki quad! The salesman said it did not come equipped with lights but when we got it home we found that it does! Awesome! Our grandson will love that too!
