Latest New Toys for My Grandson!

I’m always buying new stuff after each visit by my grandson! During each visit, as I observe him I come up with ideas that I know he will love for his next visit and I just can’t resist! LOL!! 

The latest new adds for his visits here! 

He’s going to adore this new tent with play street/town map floor for his cars and trucks! 



And he’s going to love this extra street/town play mat too! 


He’s going to love this little toddler chair that speaks when toy sit on it! He loves to sit and watch YouTube videos about farm tractors and educational videos! He also loves Blippi’s videos too! 


He had really gotten into puzzles lately! These wooden puzzles are perfect for him! 



Every time I go grocery shopping I add to this collection! They have a little display rack in the store with these cars and when they run low, they get new ones in! So I always check it out and can’t help but but any new models they now have! 


These next cars are the latest models! He’s going to absolutely LOVE that fire truck! Hubby bought him the motorcycles somewhere else! Between the two of us, every time he comes for the weekend, he has all kinds of new things to play with! 


And though he’s not quite ready yet (won’t be 2 until the end of March), I couldn’t resist all this cute potty chair that makes a flushing sound when you use the handle! And when he’s ready for the regular toilet, the seat can be used on the regular toilet too! 



He loves to draw and color so I now have these for him for next visit! 



And this next item I bought before his last visit and he loved using it! He thought it was the coolest thing to be able to stand on it at the sink to brush his teeth! I didn’t have to fight with him to get him to brush his teeth this last visit! LOL!! 



His favorite toy is his John Deere tractor! We bought this shortly before Christmas for him to use when he comes for the weekend! 


And in between visits, I pack up most of his stuff in my office and in his crib! And the overflow is in the spare bedroom with some of his toys displayed as decorations, as we enjoy seeing some of his favorite toys out on display in between visits and to play with during our FaceTime sessions nearly every evening! 

I have everything he needs as far as crib, high chair, Bob stroller, umbrella stroller, play pen, video baby monitor plus special mount for the camera, white noise machine, lullaby owl, bottles, pacifiers, dishes, dish strainer, silicone bibs, his Babyganics dish soap, funny time supplies, sheets, blankets, toy box filled with toys, changing pad, diaper caddy, sun block, sunglasses, thermometer, etc.! The only things they pack are his diapers, wet wipes, diaper cream, and clothes! 

Just some of the many things I gave for him! LOL!! 




And I have packed away all of the baby stuff that he has outgrown such as the baby swing, walker, Johnny jump up, baby seat, floor pad, baby gym, jumparoo, etc. Saving it all for my next grandchild! My daughter-in-law and I hope for a little girl next time! Of course my son wants another boy, LOL!

Too Much Rain!

We are getting way too much rain! Plus we had a snow melt with all of this rain! The yard is a mess! When walking down to the chicken coop, the lawn is so soft and squishy! I had to wear boots because my feet would have gotten drenched with regular footwear just walking across the lawn! No drought here!  Areas out front:  Our walkway from driveway to front of house! Crazy!   Areas out back:  I am glad the chicken run is relatively dry!  The first year with my chickens, they were all sinking in mud here! I had to add many bags of fine gravel, followed by many bags of sand to raise the ground level a few inches inside the run! It still wasn’t quite enough so I had to add many more bags of sand a couple more times until I could get the ground was raised enough to stay puddle-free! All in all, I raised the ground here about 7 inches from what it was! It was a lot of work! I can’t recall exactly how many bags of gravel plus sand were used. Deck Work

We are in the process of replacing the deck boards and railings, as well as adding additional supports in various spots to enhance the strength of the deck over time. It was tough removing the old deck boards and getting the new ones into position. The new boards are pressure-treated and are 20 feet in length, so each board was very heavy and difficult to maneuver. Once we had the boards in place it took about 800 deck screws to secure them! That’s a lot of screwing, LOL! We still have the last two end boards to install, as well as the new railings, and then we need to work on the stairs. We are going with premade railings which will be easier to install after trimming them to fit properly. Since the trailer is tied up with the scrap boards and railings, we have to run to the dump when they’re open I was hoping to finish before the end of vacation but we decided to take a break and head up to New Hampshire to visit our son and his family!  Here is the progress so far!  We had the 20-fo

Christmas Decorating in Progress!

This year I decided to make some changes with some of my Christmas decorations! The old outdoor strings of lights needed to be replaced. One string no longer worked last year and I figured the others might not might not make it through another season. I have always enjoyed the multicolor lights but I know my husband loves blue lights so I decided to go with blue. They are very pretty but, to me, not as “Christmasy” as the multicolored lights. I could go to the store to get multicolored lights to replace them but it is just too much work at this point! We will remain decorated in blue for this Christmas anyway! LOL!!  But the highlight of my Christmas decorating this year is my new, pre-lit, artificial Christmas Tree! I had been using a pre-lit, artificial Christmas tree that I have had for at least ten years, possibly closer to 15 years! But it was only seven feet tall and looked really tiny in my post and beam living room with super high ceilings!  My new tree is twelve feet tall! And
