New Collection Additions!

Just received my last Hummel for now! It came with the original box and paperwork and is in mint condition! 

The seller mistakenly shipped my Hummel to another buyer and shipped the other buyer’s Hummel to me! He got the labels mixed up on the boxes! 

To resolve it, I shipped the one I received directly to the other buyer instead of back to the seller and the other buyer shipped mine directly to me. The seller gave me a complete refund of $24.41, including the cost of the Hummel, shipping and tax! I only had to pay shipping cost of about $11 to get it to the other buyer. The seller said he would refund this shipping cost too! But I wouldn’t accept it. In fact, I told him that once I received my Hummel, I’d still like to pay what I initially paid minus the cost of shipping to the other buyer. But he refused this option. Yes, it was inconvenient but despite the delay due to his error, I have finally received it! The poor seller obviously a made a human error! It certainly was not purposeful. And he gave me the refund because he wanted to make things right. But he’s definitely taking a hit on both Hummels! I’m not sure if he refunded the other buyer too but I’m sure he did. 

So, in the end, I will have paid essentially less than half of what I originally paid with shipping and tax and was refunded! With the box and paperwork, paying around $11 is still a crazy good deal! I feel a little guilty! But I offered to pay for it minus the shipping cost to get the other Hummel to the other buyer. He refused to accept this. 

So, here it is!! So glad this worked out great in the end! 






I also received my last figurine for now to add to my nurse figurines collection! This one, too, I had an issue with! It was listed on EBay at auction and with the option to Buy It Now. I decided to buy it as the most recent bid was only $1.50 below the Buy It Now price. I paid for it and was waiting for it to ship. On day four, it had not shipped yet and as I was looking into it further, the item was still posted with less than an hour to go for the auction! I knew the seller only had one of these available. So I messaged the seller and provided screen shots of my order number, item purchased, invoice and confirmation of payment. By the rooms she responded, the auction had ended. But when she responded, within 24 hours, she said she didn’t know what happened and was taking care of it and that she had just shipped it out! So this was solved about 18 hours after I contacted her! 

Here is my last nurse figurine for now! Love it! It doesn’t have the original box (which I knew) but the styrofoam container is intact, which would have been inside the original box. It also includes the paperwork! So glad this worked out great in the end!

Too Much Rain!

We are getting way too much rain! Plus we had a snow melt with all of this rain! The yard is a mess! When walking down to the chicken coop, the lawn is so soft and squishy! I had to wear boots because my feet would have gotten drenched with regular footwear just walking across the lawn! No drought here!  Areas out front:  Our walkway from driveway to front of house! Crazy!   Areas out back:  I am glad the chicken run is relatively dry!  The first year with my chickens, they were all sinking in mud here! I had to add many bags of fine gravel, followed by many bags of sand to raise the ground level a few inches inside the run! It still wasn’t quite enough so I had to add many more bags of sand a couple more times until I could get the ground was raised enough to stay puddle-free! All in all, I raised the ground here about 7 inches from what it was! It was a lot of work! I can’t recall exactly how many bags of gravel plus sand were used. Deck Work

We are in the process of replacing the deck boards and railings, as well as adding additional supports in various spots to enhance the strength of the deck over time. It was tough removing the old deck boards and getting the new ones into position. The new boards are pressure-treated and are 20 feet in length, so each board was very heavy and difficult to maneuver. Once we had the boards in place it took about 800 deck screws to secure them! That’s a lot of screwing, LOL! We still have the last two end boards to install, as well as the new railings, and then we need to work on the stairs. We are going with premade railings which will be easier to install after trimming them to fit properly. Since the trailer is tied up with the scrap boards and railings, we have to run to the dump when they’re open I was hoping to finish before the end of vacation but we decided to take a break and head up to New Hampshire to visit our son and his family!  Here is the progress so far!  We had the 20-fo

Christmas Decorating in Progress!

This year I decided to make some changes with some of my Christmas decorations! The old outdoor strings of lights needed to be replaced. One string no longer worked last year and I figured the others might not might not make it through another season. I have always enjoyed the multicolor lights but I know my husband loves blue lights so I decided to go with blue. They are very pretty but, to me, not as “Christmasy” as the multicolored lights. I could go to the store to get multicolored lights to replace them but it is just too much work at this point! We will remain decorated in blue for this Christmas anyway! LOL!!  But the highlight of my Christmas decorating this year is my new, pre-lit, artificial Christmas Tree! I had been using a pre-lit, artificial Christmas tree that I have had for at least ten years, possibly closer to 15 years! But it was only seven feet tall and looked really tiny in my post and beam living room with super high ceilings!  My new tree is twelve feet tall! And
